My name is Nate Archer and my goal is to help you land that bucket list fish.

My lure fishing journey started when I was around 10 years old, chasing bass through the creeks on my parents’ and grandparents’ properties. Those early days on the water sparked a passion that my brother and I shared, and it wasn’t long before lure fishing became an obsession.

That obsession only grew stronger when we moved to Rockhampton. Having the mighty Fitzroy River on our doorstep opened up a whole new world of opportunities, and it was there that I truly fell in love with barramundi fishing. More than 20 years later, that passion burns just as strong as ever. Barramundi are a fish that continue to challenge and teach me every time I hit the water. I genuinely believe I’ll still be learning about them for the rest of my life.

For the past 22 years I’ve dedicated countless hours to understanding barramundi behaviour, seasonal movements, feeding patterns, and the techniques required to consistently target trophy fish. Along the way I’ve competed in numerous freshwater and saltwater tournaments. Tournament fishing has pushed me to become a better angler, forcing me to constantly adapt, analyse conditions, and learn from some of the best fishermen in the country.

Over the past five years I’ve also developed a deep passion for Murray cod. What I’ve discovered is that there is an incredible amount of crossover between targeting cod and barramundi. Understanding structure, fish behaviour, electronics, lure presentation, and environmental conditions plays a huge role in both fisheries. During that time I’ve had the privilege of bringing hundreds of Murray cod and thousands of metre-plus barramundi boatside, each fish adding another piece to the puzzle.

I live and breathe this sport. I’m constantly studying fish behaviour, testing new techniques, refining old ones, and learning how to better utilise modern technology. The learning never stops, and that’s what keeps me hooked.

My goal is simple: to share that knowledge and passion with others.

Whether you’re looking to catch the fish of a lifetime, improve your understanding of barramundi or Murray cod, learn how to interpret your electronics, break down unfamiliar lakes and river systems, or simply become a more confident angler, I’d love the opportunity to help.

For me, guiding is about much more than catching fish. It’s about sharing the excitement, the lessons, the stories, and the satisfaction that comes from understanding these incredible species and the environments they live in.

There’s nothing better than seeing someone connect with a trophy fish, master a new technique, or leave the boat with knowledge they’ll use for years to come.

I look forward to sharing my passion with you and helping create memories that will last a lifetime.
